For Veterans Day, Ringing Hill Fire Company wants to thank some of our dedicated volunteers who are also veterans and will be sharing stories throughout the day!
Bill Moser
Bill Moser served in the Navy from 1966-1970 during the Vietnam War. Volunteer firefighting ran in his family’s genes and he first started running with Sanatoga in 1966. He joined Ringing Hill in 1971 and was an active firefighter for 45 years. In 1975, Ringing Hill decided to build a new fire house. Bill was one of the volunteers who put in countless hours of hard work to build it!
Since Ringing Hill and Sanatoga ran together, Bill enjoyed being with his friends at both fire companies. “A lot of the guys I grew up with and went to school with. We were a tight knit group and volunteering was the perfect fit.”
Bill says that firefighting is a great life lesson. “You never know when it will come in handy.”
Rick Romig

Rick Romig served in the Navy for four years from 1970-1974 during the Vietnam War. Shortly after returning home in 1975, he joined Ringing Hill Fire Company. As a 23rd birthday present, his dad gifted him with a life membership to Ringing Hill. Rick was an active firefighter from 1975-2000 and also served as treasurer from 1982-2016.
“If you think you might like firefighting, try it out! You’ll know quickly if it’s for you or not,” said Rick.
